The total Budget allocated to the Municipality of Piraeus
for the implementation of the projects of Policy Objective 2 is €63,240,000.00.
Action 1
Bioclimatic Redevelopment of
Hadjikyriakou Avenue & Sachtouris Street, Municipality of Piraeus:
The project will take place in the 1st Municipal Community of the Municipality of Piraeus, specifically in Hatzikyriakou Avenue and Sachtouri Street. The planned works will bring about a qualitative and functional upgrade of the area, offering citizens better traffic conditions in the city. In addition to the aesthetic upgrade of the roads, the maximization of road safety and the provision of conditions for the unhindered movement of pedestrians, the project also foresees the use of bioclimatic materials. In this way, there will be a drastic improvement in the microclimate in the intervention area, improving the quality of life of the residents of the area.

Action 2
Regeneration of the Historical Center - Shelters on the sidewalks of Demosthenous and Lykourgos in Piraeus:
The project will take place in the historic center of Piraeus, and the adjacent surrounding area, behind and next to the Piraeus Tower. The upgrading of the area will modernize it and make it functional, while the placement of the shelters will protect the operating businesses and passing pedestrian visitors. At the same time, it will become a pole of attraction for tourists arriving at the port of Piraeus and will function as a "landmark" for the area and will become one of the city's attractions. The beautification of the area will improve everyday life and upgrade life in the city.
Action 3
Sustainable Interconnection of Urban Areas in the Municipality of Piraeus through the Supply of "Green" Buses:
The transition to a green and sustainable transport system is a key challenge for Greece and the Municipality of Piraeus in particular, in line with the strategic priorities and specific climate targets of the National Energy and Climate Plan. Electric mobility promotes cleaner, smarter and cheaper means of transport, contributes significantly to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and favors the penetration of RES in the energy mix, while at the same time promoting the digital transition by introducing the design and implementation of new technologies and supporting innovation.

The main objectives pursued by the Municipality of Piraeus with the procurement of 100% electric buses are:

• Easy access and interconnection of the individual areas in the Municipality of Piraeus, Easy Access and movement of people with disabilities.

• The improvement of the services provided to citizens.
• Reducing noise pollution
• Enhancing the sense of security of residents.
• Saving energy and contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
• Reducing the cost of operating and maintaining the municipality's vehicles.
• Utilizing the created infrastructure for the provision of services and the development of "Smart City" applications

Action 4
Smart and Sustainable Management of Local Environmental and Energy Resources-Sustainable Mobility and Smart Management of Urban, Commercial and Tourist Traffic Flows-Smart Living and Quality of Life:

The Municipality of Piraeus, with this Act, aims to:

- implement an intervention which, by utilizing the most modern technological capabilities, will create the basic infrastructure of the integrated smart neighborhood platform,

- develop, based on the basic infrastructure, value-added services in individual sectors that are included as a priority in the Municipality's smart city plan (energy, mobility, waste management, etc.),

- install and test the operation and efficiency of new generation sensors (IoT sensors) in individual application sectors,

- pilot the operation of individual management and remote management systems, and evaluate their effectiveness, support services and achieve the goals for better management of everyday life and improving the quality of life of its citizens, businesses and visitors.

Action 5
Smart forecasting, attraction, planning and sustainable management of Urban, Tourist and Cultural Flows in the City of Piraeus:
The innovative functionalities of the platform will support the Municipal Authority in the important role it plays as an orchestrator and key factor in mobilizing and mobilizing the city's overall tourism ecosystem. The main objective of the platform's tools and applications is the analysis and management of tourism demand as the most essential variable of international, national, regional and local tourism. In this context, the intelligent platform will be able to clarify the basic characteristics of tourism demand for the city of Piraeus as well as to produce basic forecasts for its key variables. The intelligent Urban Tourism and Cultural Flow Management Platform of Piraeus will be developed as an integrated solution for a) analyzing large-scale tourism and cultural data with the aim of deeper understanding and efficient forecasting of incoming tourist and cultural visitor flows to the city and b) promoting and advertising the city as a cultural and tourist destination through tools to support the city's businesses for high-quality tourism services, adapted to the characteristics of incoming flows.

Action 6
Piraeus Municipality Tourism Promotion Project:

The act concerns a network of actions aimed at the Municipality of Piraeus emerging as an international tourist destination, with the main axis being the development of the blue economy - tourism - culture - creative industry complex, so as to exploit the advantages of the Municipality and the development potential of the port and investments in the region. The participation of the bodies in the organization of the actions is by open invitation to all and the participation of citizens is free and universal for all.

Greek Popular Culture on the Stage of Our Digital World:
The main objective of the proposed Action is for secondary school students to learn about and assimilate Greek popular culture and more specifically the texts of popular literature, interpreting them through their own communication codes.
The Municipal Theatre of Piraeus (MTP), which is an important cultural organization, but also a living cell of holistic actions, active in the entire spectrum of creation and interventions in various fields of art and culture, aims to establish educational actions for three consecutive years/cycles (2022, 2023 and 2024) entitled "GREEK POPULAR CULTURE ON THE STAGE OF OUR DIGITAL WORLD".
The participants of the above activities will analyze and approach folk culture and theatrical structure with modern tools. The groups approach folk literature with experiential theater workshops, through theatrical logic, knowing the individual parts of theatrical language, namely directing, acting, dance, music, etc., accompanied by analysis of folk culture texts, as well as a presentation of modern theatrical language and aesthetics.

Action 8
Culture/Sports/Municipal Theatre:
The organization of the proposed sporting events of international scope and prestige in Piraeus constitutes an incentive for the participation of distinguished athletes and strengthens the development of the sporting ideal, promotes sporting values ​​and serves the historical continuity of the sporting culture of the Municipality of Piraeus.
Action 9
Development of an entry gate in Piraeus for cruise visitors. Highlighting a central and cultural route with interventions in the public space:
The project concerns the rehabilitation and interconnection of 3 central road axes (Charilaou Trikoupis, Iroon Polytechneio and II Merarchias) and 3 sites of special archaeological and cultural interest (Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, Archaeological Site of Rontiris Square and Archaeological Site of Terpsitheas Square) in the center of Piraeus. The aforementioned areas are mainly designed in relation to cruise visitors and in general pedestrians and visitors to Piraeus, especially those moving between the tourist port (Zea) and the central port and specifically the cruise ship mooring section.

The regeneration and interconnection of the main road axes with the archaeological sites includes the highlighting of the ancient monuments with modern, tasteful interventions in their surrounding and public spaces, so as to highlight the relationship between the ancient and the modern Piraeus, in a continuity of the city's history. In this way, through historical continuity and the creation of modern landmarks, routes are designed that upgrade the directly accessible urban environment of the city, while also constituting tourist routes. With the unification of the archaeological sites, a network is created that will include the monuments and archaeological sites as prominent elements, but will also incorporate green spaces, free spaces and public spaces, recreational areas and public facilities.

Action 10
Adaptation of the existing nursery school on Ypapantis and Papastratou streets to PD 99/2017, structural reinforcement and expansion with the addition of floors:
The project concerns the structural reinforcement, internal restructuring and the addition of 2 floors to the existing building on Ypapantis and Papastratou streets, which currently houses the Piraeus Municipality Daycare Center, with the main objective of adapting it to the provisions of Presidential Decree 99/2017 ("Determination of licensing and operating conditions for daycare centers and nurseries operating within legal entities of municipalities or municipal services"). Specifically, the purpose of the intervention is:

a) The structural reinforcement and compliance of the architectural and functional characteristics of the existing Daycare Center building with the aforementioned Presidential Decree, so that it can continue to operate.

b) The expansion of the Station with the creation of infant sections, as well as the redesign of the existing Kindergarten on the ground floor, the playground and the courtyard in general and, ultimately, the creation of an
architectural ensemble that will give a new lease of life to the area with its modern aesthetics, along with modern and quality services to the citizens.

With the implementation of the project, the Municipality of Piraeus, within the framework of its social policy, ensures the maintenance of the operation of the Kindergarten / Nursery School and the hygienic and safe stay of the hosted infants, babies and children and gives the opportunity to parents and especially mothers to join and/or remain in the labor market.

Adaptation of the existing nursery school on Ermoupoleos and Paxos streets to PD 99/2017 – Static reinforcement:
The project concerns the structural reinforcement and internal renovation of the existing Municipal building on Ermoupoleos and Paxos streets in the 4th Municipal Community in the Kaminia area, where the 18th Nursery School of the Municipality of Piraeus is currently housed, with the main objective of adapting it to the provisions of Presidential Decree 99/2017 ("Determination of licensing and operation conditions for children and nurseries operating within legal entities of municipalities or municipal services").

Specifically, the purpose of the intervention is the structural reinforcement and compliance of the architectural and functional characteristics of the existing Nursery School building with the aforementioned Presidential Decree, so that it can continue to operate. With the reorganization of the spaces and functions, the capacity of the Nursery Center increases to 62 children (24 infants and 38 toddlers).
With the implementation of the project, the Municipality of Piraeus, within the framework of its social policy, ensures the maintenance of the operation of the Nursery Center and the hygienic and safe stay of the hosted infants and toddlers and gives the opportunity to parents and especially mothers to join and/or remain in the labor market.

Supply of “Green” Electric Garbage Trucks and Buses / Waste Prevention Actions:
The Municipality of Piraeus, within the framework of its actions to enhance cleanliness and environmental protection, is implementing the procurement of five (5) electric press-type refuse trucks with a capacity of 4 cubic meters (m3).
These are innovative, environmentally friendly vehicles, with zero emissions, which will serve inaccessible and densely populated areas of the city, significantly improving the daily lives of citizens. The action is part of the Municipality's strategy to upgrade the cleaning fleet, reduce noise, strengthen the circular economy and adopt green technologies. With this action, the Municipality of Piraeus takes another step towards a cleaner, sustainable and modern city, upgrading the services provided and reducing the environmental footprint of municipal activities.
